1. Overview
hyve is operated by Carl Kuntz, an individual trading as hyve, based in Sydney, Australia. This policy explains what information we collect when you use hyve, how we use it, and the choices you have. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
2. Information we collect
Account information. Your email address, used to create your account and sign you in.
TikTok information.The TikTok handle you link to your account, and details about the TikTok posts you submit for verification — the post link, publish status, thumbnail, and public engagement information (such as whether the post is live and public). We only access what is needed to confirm a post exists, is public, mentions the Venue, and stays live for the required period. We do not access your TikTok password, private messages, or content you haven't submitted to us.
Submission and reward data. Which Venue a submission relates to, its verification status and timestamps, and any reward issued to you.
Technical data. Basic device and usage data collected automatically (such as browser type and access times) and essential cookies used to keep you signed in.
3. How we use TikTok data
We use TikTok post information solely to verify that a genuine, public post about a Venue was made, and to display that verification (for example, a thumbnail) to you and the Venue within hyve. We do not use TikTok data for advertising, do not sell it, and do not share it with third parties beyond what is described in this policy. If you disconnect your TikTok handle or delete your account, we stop using it for verification and delete it in line with the retention terms below.
4. How we use your information
- To create and manage your account and sign you in;
- To verify TikTok submissions and issue rewards you've earned;
- To let a Venue confirm a reward at redemption;
- To prevent fraud and abuse, such as duplicate or fake submissions;
- To send you service emails, such as sign-in links and submission updates;
- To maintain and improve the Service.
5. Who we share information with
We share limited information with the Venue involved in a submission (for example, that a reward has been earned or redeemed). We use third-party service providers to run hyve, including Supabase (database and authentication), Vercel (hosting), and Zoho (email). These providers only process data on our behalf. We do not sell your personal information, and we don't share it with advertisers.
6. Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterwards to meet legal, accounting, or fraud-prevention obligations. You can ask us to delete your account and associated data at any time — see below.
7. Your rights and choices
You can access or correct your account information at any time from your account page. You can ask us to delete your account and personal information, or to disconnect your TikTok handle, by emailing us at the address below. We'll action deletion requests within a reasonable time, except where we need to retain information for legal reasons.
8. Children's privacy
hyve is not directed at children. You must be at least 16 to create an account, as set out in our Terms of Service.
9. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including access controls and encrypted connections. No system is completely secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.
10. International transfers
Our service providers may store or process data outside Australia. Where this happens, we take reasonable steps to make sure your information is handled consistently with this policy.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the “last updated” date above.
